Grounded in local leadership and lived experience, the Fund invests in bold solutions that remove barriers, build opportunity, and celebrate the strength of Black communities across the Northland. In 2025, we invested $121,500 into the community through Unity Fund grants. Applications for 2026 grants from the Unity Fund will open on February 23.

The Unity Fund exists to ensure that people of African Heritage can fully participate in, shape, and benefit from the social and economic life of our region. By addressing systemic inequities head-on, we’re working together to open doors, shift power, and build a future rooted in dignity, inclusion, and shared prosperity.
The Unity Fund supports projects and programs that: Increase access to housing and home ownership Grow innovative Black-owned businesses Black culture and history Eliminate health disparities and improve well-being Expand access to education, career development, and leadership opportunities Duluth Center for Women and Children A stronger, more equitable community grows economic vitality and opportunities for everyone.

CFNF Helping Today, Shaping Tomorrow Grant is a grant from the Community Foundation of North Florida that funds nonprofits addressing pressing challenges with programs and services of lasting impact in Florida's Big Bend region. Each year, CFNF awards ten grants of $5,000 each to eligible organizations. A separate Arts Nonprofit Grant Cycle awards five grants of $6,000 each for arts organizations in the same region. Eligible applicants must be 501(c)(3) organizations serving one or more of eleven counties including Leon, Gadsden, Jefferson, and Wakulla, with at least two years of operating history in the region.
