Match Saving Program - Campaign for Working Families (Unite Purpose with Grit, Resilience, Action, Discipline, & Execution) A Match Savings Initiative of the Campaign for Working Families What is the UPGRADE Match Saving Initiative? UPGRADE is designed to help individuals and families build savings with purpose.
The program encourages consistent saving habits, strengthens financial decision-making, and provides matched funds to help participants achieve meaningful asset goals without jeopardizing long-term stability. By combining savings incentives with financial education and personalized support, UPGRADE helps participants prepare for the future while remaining resilient in the present.
Matched Savings Opportunities Education: Save toward post-secondary education or vocational training while building skills to support long-term career and income growth Homeownership Savings: Build savings for a first-time home purchase expense while preparing for sustainable homeownership Emergency Savings: Create an emergency fund for unexpected, essential expenses that threaten housing, employment, or health.
Have household income at or below 350% of the Federal Poverty Level Have a steady source of earned or unearned income Be willing to save monthly and complete the required financial education Meet asset-specific criteria: Education: enrolled or planning to enroll in an accredited postsecondary institution Homeownership: first-time homebuyer Emergency Savings: associated with a CWF program The participant must have a household-adjusted gross income (AGI) that is equal to or less than 300% of the poverty line.

Design strategies to achieve their personal, financial, and asset goals.
Acquire financial skills and knowldge to make informed financial decisions. Develop or improve fiscal self-discipline, self-awareness, and patterns of regular saving. Improve self-esteem, self-confidence, and assertiveness, particularly about financial and consumer matters.
