URJGENT Grants Program is sponsored by Supervisor Otto Lee, District 3. Community-centered funding opportunity in District 3 of Santa Clara County.

## **General Program Information** ## **NOTE: We are unable to take meetings to discuss the content of proposed projects/applications during the planning and award time frame (January-June). ** Our grants program funds local community projects that help enhance our quality of life and expand the outreach of County services and resources.

The main goal of the URJGENT Grant Program is to support the smaller grassroots organizations and efforts that are growing and meet the important needs of our residents. The grant program process is done through budget inventory items as part of the County’s annual budget process. See the Board's inventory process webpage for more information, including directions on how to apply to other Supervisorial District Offices' programs.

URJGENT is an acronym for our D3 policy priorities of: ✩ Unhoused ✩ Racial Justice ✩ Green ✩ Equity ✩ Neighborhoods ✩ Transparency. | RACIAL JUSTICE | We will continue to be visible and stand against hate, violence, and injustice. We stand in strong support of the movements that call for racial justice – Black Lives Matter, Stop AAPI Hate, Love Wins, and more.

We also stand in solidarity with the Latinx, indigenous, and the LGBTQ+ communities who face the same threats, violence, and harm. We must confront prejudice and discrimination based on our immutable characteristics, be it implicit, explicit, present or systemic. | | GREEN | We must be strong stewards for our planet because we have no other choice.

We want to acknowledge and elevate the work being done in the County of Santa Clara that promotes green practices and reducing carbon emissions, including advocating for stronger public transportation and protecting our green spaces.

| | TRANSPARENCY | Good government means honoring the trust of our residents, so we are also looking for proposals that increase access to our local government and government resources, particularly for our disadvantaged communities. This includes providing multilingual or non-English outreach for critical government/public resources or streamline communications between our agencies and our residents.
