Announcing The Ursa Major Fund for Artists – Bunnell Street Arts Center Homer, Alaska – Bunnell Street Arts Center announces The Ursa Major Fund , a new grant opportunity for Alaska artists funded by the Andy Warhol Foundation’s Regional Regranting Program, and administered by Bunnell Street Arts Center. Applications open September 1, 2025.
The fund supports Artist-led, risk-taking, public-facing projects that inspire curiosity, engagement, dialogue and respect for cultural integrity. Info sessions about Ursa Major begin in March and continue through the summer. The Ursa Major Fund supports the independent, self-organized work of artists, small groups and collaborators playing a crucial role within Alaska’s cultural ecosystem.
Grants allow artists to create art work that engages their communities and experiments with new possibilities. Bunnell Street Arts Center will award a total of $60,000 to Alaska artists through 15 grants ranging from $1,000 to $10,000. Applications will open September 1 and close October 31.
Applications will be adjudicated by a panel of jurors primarily from outside of Alaska. Awards will be made and announced in early 2026. For more information, contact Asia Freeman at asia@bunnellarts.
