Manufacturing Modernization Grant Awardees Announced - Governor's Office of Economic Development To strengthen Utah’s manufacturing industry, the Governor’s Office of Economic Opportunity (GOEO) designated $10 million for a new Manufacturing Modernization Grant (MMG). The program incentivizes Utah businesses to modernize, establish, relocate, retain, or develop manufacturing in the state.
The grant updates Utah companies’ manufacturing, increases supply chain resilience, and lessens American dependence on foreign manufacturing. To qualify for the grant, the manufacturing modernization project must be located in Utah, and the company must have contributed to the project’s cost.
“This grant provided businesses with incredible opportunities to enhance their manufacturing capabilities,” said Jim Grover, managing director of incentives and grants. “Investing in small businesses that produce valuable products by pairing a skilled workforce with advanced manufacturing technology is a win-win scenario.
” Of the 185 applications requesting funding of over $100 million, grant recipients are the following 21 companies: Company County Advanced Composites Inc. Utah Conductive Group LLC Wasatch ElectraFly Davis Fierce Firearms Sevier Future Comp, LLC Sanpete HiFunda Salt Lake HyPerComp Engineering Inc Box Elder IME Automation Washington IsoTruss Industries, LLC Utah Lakeshore Plastics, LLC Utah Lion Energy LLC Utah Mountain West Stairlifts LLC Davis SB Manufacturers DBA Proline Tools, LLC Salt Lake Spring Works Utah Davis Stadler Rail Salt Lake Teal Drones, Inc. Salt Lake Thermal Management Technologies Cache Vitalpax, Inc. Washington Western Clay Sevier GOEO looked for manufacturing modernization projects that: Establish, relocate, retain, or develop the manufacturing industry in Utah Increase supply chain resilience and lessen dependence on overseas manufacturing Have additional funding sources or existing or planned partnerships to benefit the project Are aligned with a Utah targeted industry Have fewer than 250 full-time employees
