Vallee Scholars Program

Vallee Scholars Program is sponsored by Vallee Foundation. Provides flexible funding to exceptional, early-stage, independent investigators conducting bold and innovative basic biomedical research.

Vallee Scholar Awards | The Vallee Foundation Established in 2013, the Vallee Scholar Awards program provides flexible, unrestricted funding to outstanding early-career investigators conducting basic biomedical research. Since its inception, the Vallee Foundation has invested over $20 million in bold and innovative scientists who represent the future of biomedical discovery.

Each year, six career development awards of $400,000 — to be spent over four years — are awarded to junior faculty whose research and professional growth will be advanced by participation in the program, which includes annual meetings during the grant period. Vallee Scholar Awards are available only to investigators who have been nominated by institutions that have been selected by the Vallee Foundation Board of Directors.

One nomination will be accepted per institution. A list of the current year's institutions can be found in the FAQ below. Eligible candidates must have received their PhD, MD, or equivalent professional degree within twelve years of the application deadline and must have held an independent research position (tenure track or equivalent) for no more than six years by that same date.

The Vallee Foundation welcomes nominations for outstanding scientists from diverse backgrounds and experiences and is committed to furthering the careers of the next generation of scholars.
