Making a Difference in the DMV and Beyond Van Metre's commitment to community service spans a diverse range of impactful initiatives.

Highlights include sponsoring and staffing a spring blood drive with WJLA-ABC7, where over 50 units of blood were collected, benefiting 150 individuals. The company also organized educational campaigns like "Sound the Alarm," installing smoke detectors for low-income families.

Additional efforts include hosting the annual Van Metre 5k Run, raising a record-breaking $266,075 for Children's National Hospital, and supporting local food banks through initiatives like the award-winning Peanut Butter Drive. These efforts underscore Van Metre's dedication to enhancing lives across the DMV area and beyond.

Providing children affected by pediatric cancer the chance to be a construction worker for the day. Donating blood and saving lives by providing essential blood supplies to those in need. Planting and picking food for local families facing food insecurities in the area.

Distributing new, unwrapped toys to less fortunate children during the holiday season. As part of our Year of Giving initiative, Van Metre Homes, in collaboration with the Van Metre Companies Foundation, will donate $1,000 for every home sold to local 501(c) charities dedicated to enhancing community well-being. In 2025, we anticipate contributing over $400,000 in support of these organizations.

Ranked #3 for Corporate Philanthropy Van Metre ranked third in the Washington Business Journal’s Corporate Philanthropy Awards for the mid size category in 2024, raising $1. 84 million for the community. Record-Breaking Donation for Children's National In 2023, the company raised a record-breaking donation of nearly $273,000 at the Van Metre 5K Run.
