The Laurance & Mary Rockefeller Fund supports organizations working to preserve and enhance the physical, cultural, spiritual, and wellness environment of the communities of Barnard, Bridgewater, Hartland, Killington, Plymouth, Pomfret, Reading, and Woodstock. What does the Rockefeller Fund support?
The Laurance & Mary Rockefeller Fund will accept applications from organizations working to preserve and enhance the physical, cultural, spiritual, and wellness environment of the communities of Barnard, Bridgewater, Hartland, Killington, Plymouth, Pomfret, Reading, and Woodstock. The Fund will consider requests for both general operating or project/program support. What does the Rockefeller Fund not support?
The Fund does not make grants to individuals or capital or endowment campaigns. Who is eligible to apply? Applicants must be serving one or more of these communities to be eligible to apply: Barnard, Bridgewater, Hartland, Killington, Plymouth, Pomfret, Reading, and/or Woodstock.
All applicants to programs at the Vermont Community Foundation must meet the guidelines outlined in the General Applicant Guidelines and Requirements found on our For Nonprofits page. What size are the grants? Grants will be in the range of $1,000-$5,000.
What is the grant term timeline? Grant activities must take place between January 2027 and January 2028 to be eligible for funding. Deadline and Notification Timeline Laurance & Mary Rockefeller Fund 2026 Deadline: Applications will be accepted between September 1 – October 13, 2026.
Applications must be received by 5PM on Tuesday, October 13 in order to be considered. The advisory committee meets in the fall (2026) to consider applications for the following year (2027). Notifications and awards will be sent to applicants in January 2027.
Grant funds cannot cover activities that have already taken place; please keep the notification timeline and grant term in mind as you prepare your application. Grants can be used to cover activities beginning in January 2027 and extending through January 2028. Notifications on approved and denied applications will be made by email to the email address used to submit the application.
