Vehicle Repair Program is sponsored by Community Action Partnership of Hennepin County (CAP-HC). CAP-HC's Vehicle Repair Program provides free car repair for income-eligible families in Hennepin County, Minnesota, to help them maintain safe and reliable transportation for work.

Hennepin County Vehicle Repair Assistance Programs Vehicle Repair Assistance Community Action Partnership of Hennepin County’s (CAP-HC’s) Vehicle Repair Assistance Program can help you repair your car so that you can maintain a safe and reliable way to get to work. You’re eligible for CAP-HC’s Vehicle Repair Assistance Program if you meet the following requirements: You live in Hennepin County.

You have a valid Minnesota driver’s license. You have current car insurance. You have proof of ownership of the vehicle in need of repair.

Your car is less than 20 years old. You have household income that is at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level Income Guidelines — see table. Applicants must complete CAP-HC’s Financial Wellness Workshop as part of the application process.

Here’s how to get started: You can download an application using the button below. Pick Up an Application in Person Pick up an application at one of CAP-HC’s offices during office hours. The Vehicle Repair online application is undergoing maintenance and is temporarily unavailable.

Please choose a different way to get your application. Collect Required Documents Provide Proof of the Following: Income for all adults in the household for the last full calendar month, including wages, public benefits, social security, child support, etc. If your household hasn’t received income in the last full calendar month, complete the Verification of Zero Income form on page 7 of the application packet. Financial Wellness certificate with a training completion date within the last 12 months. We will review your application materials and follow up with you for next steps. All Vehicle Repair Program clients must complete CAP-HC’s Financial Wellness training and submit the completion certificate before vehicle repairs are started.
