Apply for a Grant | New Africa Fund The Africa Fundraising Incubator (AFI) The Africa Fundraising Incubator - AFI (previously called the Africa Impact Fundraising Grant - AIFG) is an initiative by the New Africa Fund, aimed at empowering African NGOs, community-based organizations, and social enterprises to address the pressing need for funding and fundraising expertise.
The next open call for the AFI Program is from July 14th to August 14th, 2026 Join the AFI Informational Webinar on July 13th The Africa Fundraising Incubator (AFI) Selected organizations will start with an online training program focused on small donor campaigns. They will then put their skills into action during a 30-day fundraising challenge, with the opportunity to secure up to $5,000 USD in matching funds.
Top-performing organizations will be invited to our training center in Kigali, Rwanda, for a week-long intensive workshop covering critical aspects of fundraising - including financial management, marketing, communications, grant writing, donor research, cultivation and retention, individual donor campaigns, and local fundraising strategies.
Only organizations registered in one of the 54 African Union member states are eligible to apply. Benefits of the AFI program Up to 70 organizations will receive foundational training on individual donor campaigns. Selected organizations will participate in a 30-day fundraising challenge, with up to $5,000 USD in matching funds available.
All participating organizations will receive 12 months of free fiscal sponsorship from the New Africa Fund, with the possibility of extension. Up to 10 top-performing organizations will be invited to a week-long intensive workshop in Kigali to deepen their fundraising expertise. Additional performance-based fundraising opportunities will be provided as the program develops.

Please note that the New Africa Fund does not charge any fees to apply to its grant programs.
