The Women’s Fund was established in 1994 as an enduring resource for our state’s women and girls. The fund remains the largest philanthropic resource dedicated exclusively to this mission. A council of people from around Vermont advises the fund and participates in its grantmaking, fundraising, and leadership work.
The Women’s Fund makes grants to promote ideas and support programs which focus on the needs of women and girls in this state, and to increase public awareness of these needs. In addition, the fund encourages women to think of themselves as philanthropists, helping them to recognize that they can make a real difference in their communities through charitable giving.

All gifts are subject to a federally required amendment or variance power that permits the Vermont Community Foundation to vary from the terms and conditions of agreements with donors relative to the purpose, investment, and management of its funds subject to the procedural requirements of Vermont state law. In practice, the Foundation uses this variance power rarely and only if the needs of the community have shifted.
The Foundation will be in communication with donors should such a shift occur.

Northeast Kingdom Fund is sponsored by Vermont Community Foundation. The Northeast Kingdom Fund provides grants to support the people and communities of Caledonia, Essex, and Orleans counties in Vermont. It supports small-scale, community-based projects where modest philanthropic investment can make a significant difference. VCF Capacity Building Grants is a grant from the Vermont Community Foundation that funds consultant fees for organizational capacity building work at small nonprofits and municipalities across Vermont.
