Higher Education Safety Grant (Tennessee) is a Tennessee state program distributing 30 million dollars in campus safety funding to public and private higher education institutions, including University of Tennessee system schools, Tennessee Board of Regents institutions, and Tennessee Lottery Scholarship-eligible schools. Funding amounts are formula-based on Fall 2023 in-person student enrollment. Eligible uses include physical security improvements (perimeter and access control, surveillance, visitor management, signage), school resource officers, emergency operations planning, violence prevention programs, conflict resolution, and staff safety training.
