Walton Family Foundation Education Program (AI in the Classroom) is a grant from Walton Family Foundation that funds research, pilots, and educator initiatives advancing artificial intelligence in K–12 education.

The Foundation has commissioned major surveys showing 79% of teachers are now familiar with ChatGPT — up from 25% one year prior — and funds tools such as Math Hint Generator chatbots, early literacy AI interventions, and school comparison tools via the Learning Engineering Virtual Institute. Funding is primarily through invited proposals and strategic partnerships; unsolicited proposals are not accepted.

The Foundation focuses on innovations that measurably boost student achievement and help teachers build instructional capacity, especially for underserved students.
