Environmental Education Grants Grants are a vital part of many environmental education efforts, but often it's difficult to stay apprised of current opportunities. org Click the grant title to link to the grant's website. Watchable Wildlife Grants Each fall the Watchable Wildlife Grant opens for applications, with a maximum award of $6,000. Eligible projects must enhance wildlife observation, positively impact natural resources and wildlife, and promote stewardship and appreciation of local natural resources.
Non-profit, governmental, and for-profit entities are encouraged to apply by downloading and submitting the application via email during the specified period. The NEA Foundation is a national nonprofit and philanthropic organization based in Washington, DC. Founded by educators, our mission is to work in partnership with others to promote the absolute best in public education. Grants include: Learning & Leadership, Student Success, Envision Equity, and a Global Learning Fellowship.
The NEA Foundation also shares resources to other grant and fellowship opportunities who believe in the power of educators. Nebraska Environmental Trust Grant The Trust especially seeks projects that bring public and private partners together collaboratively to implement high-quality, cost-effective projects.
Any project or portion of a project funded by the Nebraska Environmental Trust must achieve one or more of the following Trust categories. These category areas are equally important: Habitat, Surface and Ground Water, Waste Management, Air Quality and Soil Management. Applications geared towards education of one of the mentioned categories are also accepted.
Deadline: September, Tuesday after Labor Day The Lawrence Foundation is a private, family foundation focused on making grants to support environmental, human services and other causes. It awards both program and operating grants, with no geographical restrictions. Nonprofit organizations that qualify for public charity status under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code or similar organizations are eligible to apply.
Average grant amount is $5,000-$10,000. Deadlines: April 30 and October 31 Waste Management Charitable Giving Focused on making a difference, Waste Management Community Impact strives to be good corporate citizens by making communities safer, stronger and more sustainable. We work with involved citizens, organizations and corporate partners on local initiatives to promote civic pride, economic development and revitalization.
Causes we support include: Environmental Stewardship, Sustainability Education, Community Vitality, Environmental Justice, Workforce + Skills Development, Supplier Diversity. We support 501(c)(3) or public organizations who exclusively use donations for public purposes. Toshiba America has two grant programs - one for teachers of kindergarten-sixth grade, a second grant for teachers of 7-12 grades.
Both programs are for the enhancement of science and math education. the K-6 grants are for up to $1,000. The 7-12 grants are divided into two groups - smaller than $5,000 and over $5,000.
Deadline: K–6 grade program grants are due October 1. Deadline: 7 - 12 grade program grants over $5,000 are due June 1; grants under $5,000 are accepted on a rolling basis. The National Grassroots Organizing Program offers two-year unrestricted, general operating support grants of up to $30,000 per year, with an average grant size of $20,000 per year, to small (budgets under $350,000), constituent-led grassroots organizations throughout the United States and its territories. Deadlines: Ben & Jerry's Foundation uses a rolling process, you may submit anytime throughout the year.
U.S. EPA Environmental Education Grants Under the Environmental Education Grants Program, EPA seeks grant proposals from eligible applicants to support environmental education projects that promote environmental awareness and stewardship and help provide people with the skills to take responsible actions to protect the environment.
This grant program provides financial support for projects that design, demonstrate, and/or disseminate environmental education practices, methods, or techniques. Deadline: varies, depends on approval of federal budget

Parkland Acquisitions and Renovations for Communities (PARC) Grant Program is a grant from the Massachusetts Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs that funds the acquisition and development of public parkland and outdoor recreational facilities. Eligible applicants include Massachusetts cities of any size and towns with 35,000 or more year-round residents that have an established park or recreation commission and an approved Open Space and Recreation Plan. Funded projects may address disease treatment, habitat conservation, population monitoring, or public education strategies that contribute to bat species survival. Eligible applicants include researchers, nonprofits, universities, and government agencies with relevant conservation expertise. Awards range from $50,000 to $250,000, with the 2025 deadline on August 14, 2025.
Northern California Environmental Grassroots Fund is a grant from Rose Foundation for Communities and the Environment that funds small and emerging grassroots organizations in California building climate resilience and advancing environmental justice. The fund prioritizes groups rooted in historically marginalized communities, including BIPOC, frontline, and low-income populations, with strong advocacy, organizing, and outreach components. Eligible applicants are nonprofit organizations or fiscally-sponsored groups with annual income or expenses of $150,000 or less; government agencies, colleges, and universities are not eligible. Awards typically range from $4,000 to $7,500, with a maximum of $7,500.
