We have updated our grant process to an online format Any grant submitted past the due dates, will not be considered and must be resubmitted for the next quarter meeting. LOI & Grant Application Periods * All Grant Application Must be submitted no later than 5:00pm Central Time.
Beginning in 2026 , the Foundation will: Only fund nonprofits serving Texas Exception – If your nonprofit is outside Texas OR in one of the excluded counties, AND you've previously received funding, you may contact the Foundation's Grant Director at ann@wjmcf.
org NOT accept applications from certain Texas counties , including: Major metro areas like Dallas (Dallas County), Fort Worth (Tarrant County), Houston (Harris County), Austin (Travis County), San Antonio (Bexar County), and surrounding counties, as well as El Paso (El Paso County) A full list of counties from which the Foundation does not accept grants: Atascosa Collin Galveston Kendall Travis Austin Comal Guadalupe Medina Waller Bastrop Dallas Harris Liberty Williamson Bexar Ellis Hays Montgomery Wilson Brazoria Denton Hunt Parker Wise Caldwell El Paso Johnson Rockwall Chambers Fort Bend Kaufman Tarrant Map of counties from which the Foundation does not accept grants: Application Process Rules Applications must be submitted online only All required questions (marked with *) must be completed Organization & Documentation Requirements To apply, your nonprofit must: Use the exact legal name + Tax ID (TIN) from: IRS Determination Letter Ensure all TINs match across documents Include DBA (if applicable) in parentheses after legal name Provide 3 years of Form 990 tax returns.
New organizations may not qualify yet Only 1 application per TIN per 12 months If multiple organizations share a TIN, please coordinate internally before applying Must be a registered 501(c)(3) (tax-exempt nonprofit) Must seek funding from multiple sources Grants are NOT given to individuals Educational grants only go to colleges & universities (not K–12 schools) Any submission made within 72 hours of the deadline may leave insufficient time to correct errors or request clarification Grants are awarded at the discretion of the Wayne and JoAnn Moore Charitable Foundation's Board of Trustees There are no assurances that a grant will be awarded Past grant recipients will be considered for new funding only if all progress and final reports for previously awarded grants have been received If denied, the Foundation will not provide feedback
