The Children's Fund is now closed for new applications and will reopen September 15, 2026.
** * #### **Please submit all receipts within 30 days of the application approval. ** The WEA Children’s Fund, a registered 501(c)(3) organization, helps ensure that students across Washington have the basic items they need to succeed in school, regardless of their family’s income. During the 2024–2025 school year, the Children’s Fund helped support about 1,000 students statewide.
Founded in 1990 with an initial $30,000, the Children’s Fund now requires nearly $100,000 each year to meet the growing needs of students across Washington. This support is only possible because of the generosity of donors who believe every child deserves the opportunity to thrive. Contributions to the WEA Children’s Fund directly help students in local communities throughout the state.
Your donation, whether it's a one-time or recurring tax-deductible donation,helps provide students with the essentials they need to learn with confidence and dignity. There are students in our schools who lack basic necessities such as**shoes**,**clothing**,and **school supplies**. If you are a WEA member in public education and know a student in need, the WEA Children’s Fund is here to help.
Members may request reimbursement of up to $100 per student for eligible items, with a maximum of five students per school year. **All requests are kept confidential. **No child should have to go without the essentials needed to succeed in school.
**PRIOR APPROVAL IS REQUIRED BEFORE MAKING PURCHASES FOR REIMBURSEMENT. ** Receipts must be submitted within 30 days of approval and meet program **GUIDELINES**. The WEA Children’s Fund accepts requests from **September 15 through June 15**, or until available funding has been exhausted.
