The Weatherization housing program is intended to reduce heating and cooling costs for low-income families, particularly for the elderly, people with disabilities, and children, by improving the energy efficiency of their homes. Weatherization includes: home improvements and energy conservation measures costing an average of $6,500 per house in materials and labor costs.
