Apply for the WV Higher Education Grant The West Virginia Higher Education Grant is a need-based financial aid program to ensure West Virginia students are given an opportunity to pursue post-secondary education. How to Apply for the WV Higher Education Grant For the 2026-2027 award year, submit a completed 2026-2027 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by the April 15, 2026, deadline.
After you have completed the FAFSA, if you do not have a WVSAM Account , you may create one to monitor your WVHEG eligibility and award information. After creating the account, you will be sent an email (may be in your junk/spam) with a link to create your password, then log in.
