Apply for grant — Wheels & Keels Vero Beach Wheels and Keels Mission: Wheels & Keels Foundation Inc., is a 501 (c) (3) Gifting Foundation, which focuses on providing funding to selected local non-profit charities whose activities strive to improve the lives of both children and adults in the Treasure Coast community, with special interest in organizations less able to secure funding from other sources.
Wheels & Keels (W&K) was conceived by several Vero Beach residents as a means to introduce a concourse-style car and boat show to the Vero Beach area and distribute any proceeds to local charities that fit its mission. In 2009, the first Wheels & Keels Car and Boat show was held at The Moorings Yacht and Country Club with a few classic cars, four trailered boats, and two yachts moored at the docks.
The first charity to benefit from the proceeds was Youth Sailing Foundation of Indian River County. Since its inception, the Car and Boat Show has grown into a Two-Day Annual Fundraising Weekend held at The Moorings Yacht and Country Club in Vero Beach, Florida. The weekend commences with a “Reception, Dinner and Live Auction” on Friday evening and culminates with an Antique & Exotica Car & Boat Show on Saturday.
Since its inception, The Wheels & Keels Foundation Inc. has been able to distribute over $700,000 in Grants to local non-profit organizations.
Criteria for a W&K Grant: For a Charity to be selected as a recipient of Wheels & Keels Foundation Inc. funds for a particular year, the requirements include: Be an Indian River County or Treasure Coast, Florida based Non-Profit Charity Complete a Wheels & Keels Foundation Inc. Grant Application Provide a video or detailed information about the organization State the amount of Funds requested with detailed explanation of how the funds will be used A Grant Application is available from a W&K Board member or can be downloaded from our website, www.
wkvero. com. Submission of a completed application is made to WheelsandKeelsvb@gmail.
com or to a W&K Board member. All submissions are to be made no later than October 1. In November, the Wheels & Keels Board reviews all Grant applications received and selects approximately 10 local Charites as recipients of Grants for that coming fundraising year.
