Scott Nealy and his partner, Elizabeth Mitchell, a Woodway, Washington councilmember. The Whitehorse Foundation is a supporting organization of the Seattle Foundation , which administers its grantmaking. Whitehorse pursues a mission to support “nonprofit organizations operating in Snohomish County that work to ensure children, youth and families thrive.
” Areas of specific interest include education, mental health, housing and community development. Across all giving areas, the foundation prioritizes “accessible programming” and “programs and projects that include other sources of funding and have strong community support.
” Grants for Housing, Homelessness and Community Development A significant portion of Whitehorse’s giving addresses housing, basic needs and services for Snohomish County’s homeless and vulnerable residents. Grantees include Take the Next Step of Monroe, Everett’s Cocoon House, the Community Resource Center of Stanwood-Camano and Housing Hope of Everett.
