WholeSchool Mindfulness Director Program Support is sponsored by WholeSchool Mindfulness Inc.. This grant focuses on integrating mindfulness into K-12 schools, emphasizing culturally-responsive, healing-centered, and trauma-informed practices.

As a Mindfulness Director, you’ll remain embedded in your school community while receiving comprehensive support from WholeSchool to integrate healing-centered, culturally responsive mindfulness practices into daily school life. Mindfulness becomes a way to strengthen what is working, support what is needed, and bring more balance to everyday life.

You might be a strong fit if you: Work within K-12 education in California, Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Virginia, or Washington, DC Are already employed (or have an existing relationship with and a clear path to employment) at a school The Mindfulness Director Application process is held annually in the fall. The application period is currently closed.

Mindfulness Director Interest Form What WholeSchool Provides Access to a supportive network of Mindfulness Directors Ongoing professional development and peer mentorship $1,500 per year in flexible professional development funds Up to $30,000 over two years (max $15,000 annually) in needs-based funding Funds typically support the Mindfulness Director’s salary and benefits, but can also support direct program needs Continued engagement opportunities and access to our Mindfulness Director network beyond the initial two years Mindfulness Practice: Committed personal mindfulness practice.

Mindfulness Teaching Experience: School based mindfulness teaching experience with adults and/or students.

K-12 Experience: Deep connection to your school community through your role as a teacher, counselor, administrator, etc. Justice Commitment: Clear commitment to mindfulness rooted in social justice and equity The Deeper Qualifications: Trauma-Informed Practice: Training and experience in trauma-sensitive mindfulness, healing-centered education, and restorative justice approaches Cultural Responsiveness: Understanding of how mindfulness practices can be adapted to honor and reflect diverse cultural practices, strengths, and ways of knowing Integration Leadership: Experience stewarding social-emotional learning, equity, and cultural competency in schools through restorative justice, circle facilitation, and community-building with youth and adults.

Step 1: Complete Application Submit your application, sharing details about your personal and professional mindfulness background and vision for your school community through written and video responses. In addition, applicants must submit a Letter of Interest, signed by the school administrator who will serve as their liaison and approve their time commitment and salary related to this role.

Our team reviews applications within 2-3 weeks, looking for alignment with our values and qualifications. Step 2: Interview Qualified candidates participate in a combination of asynchronous and live interviews to explore fit and discuss their potential partnership with WholeSchool.

These include: Virtual interview at the applicant’s pace via Willo 50-minute live virtual interview with lesson demo and Q&A via Zoom Tailored follow-up questions Step 3: Partnership Readiness Assessment: WholeSchool seeks to partner with schools that have begun the work to integrate mindfulness and are seeking to deepen and sustain this integration in order to increase their impact.

Therefore, semi-finalists are asked to work with their school leaders to submit a proposal that outlines their shared vision and commitment to how the Mindfulness Director position will be implemented in their school community. Step 4: Final Selection & Onboarding Candidates will be selected and begin comprehensive onboarding in the Spring.
