The AHRA Women’s Health Research Translation and Impact Network (WHRTN) is pleased to announce its inaugural Early and Mid-Career Researcher Funded Awards grant round comprising one-off 12-month financial support to facilitate career advancement and development in women in early and mid-career stages of their research careers.
This support is designed to advance the career development of women working across the breadth of women’s health research and build capacity in women researchers across underrepresented groups, diverse disciplines and Indigenous research. This is competitive award provides candidates with up to $15,000 to commence on 1 July 2021 .
To be eligible for the competitive award, applicants must be an individual employed at an NHMRC accredited Research and Translation Centres or, employed at an organisation partnering or affiliated with an NHMRC-accredited Research and Translation Centre. For the purposes of the Award, an Early Career Researcher is defined as an emerging researcher with postgraduate research experience with the equivalent of up to ten (10) cumulative years, allowing for professional or personal career interruptions. Unlike other ECR definitions, the definition is inclusive of researchers with or without a PhD.
A Mid-Career Researcher is defined as a researcher with postgraduate research experience with the equivalent of five (5) to fifteen (15) cumulative years, allowing for professional or personal career interruptions. As above, the definition is inclusive of researchers with or without a PhD. Further eligibility requirements and information is available in the Information and Application Form (docx) .
Applications have now closed. Suitable candidates will be shortlisted and successful applicants will be notified by Friday 21 May 2021 . All applicants will be notified of the outcome of their submission in writing.
