Wichita Arts Council Artist Grants is sponsored by Wichita Arts Council. Quarterly grants to support individual artists in the Greater Wichita area with materials, production, or exhibition costs for their creative projects.

Grants - Wichita Arts Council Investing in Wichita’s Artists The Arts Council believes the arts save cities. When artists have what they need to create and share their work, neighborhoods come alive, local pride grows, and more people feel connected to where they live.

Our grant funding is designed to celebrate Wichita’s creative community and help propel what is next, whether that is a new exhibit, a performance, a workshop, or an arts experience that invites the public in.

Fund new and existing creative work across Wichita Expand public access to meaningful arts experiences Strengthen the city by investing directly in artists and organizations Artist & Collaboration Grants Grants for artists working independently or together. Arts Council Grants support Greater Wichita–based artists whose projects contribute artistic, educational, and cultural value to the Wichita region.

We prioritize work that reflects our community, invites public engagement, and strengthens regional access to the arts. Grants of up to $1,000 are available to help bring creative projects to life. Funding may be used for materials and supplies, production or exhibition costs, costuming, installation and strike, and other direct expenses related to creating or presenting visual or performance art.

Living expenses and personal transportation costs for artists are also eligible. Individual Grant applications are reviewed on a quarterly basis . To be considered in a given review cycle, complete applications by March 2, April 30, July 31st, and October 31.

Applications received by the deadline will be reviewed by a panel of arts experts and awarded at the following monthly meeting. Submissions received after the deadline will automatically be considered in the next review cycle. View the scoring rubric used by our review panel to evaluate Artist Grant applications.

This outlines the criteria and point system that guide funding decisions. The Collaboration Grant supports bold, creative partnerships that bring people together through art. This $5,000 grant is awarded annually to help fund projects created by two or more artists , or by an artist and an arts organization working together.

This grant is designed to spark fresh ideas, encourage cross-disciplinary work, and help collaborators turn an exciting concept into something real. Whether you’re planning a performance, exhibit, workshop series, community-based project, or something entirely new, the Collaboration Grant helps you build something meaningful, visible, and impactful for Wichita. Collaboration grants are awarded once per year.

Collaboration Grants will open in late Spring 2026 Building a Thriving Arts Community for Wichita From funding local artists to hosting vibrant Arts Mixrs across the city, the Arts Council champions creativity at every level. Our programs spark connection, celebrate talent, and make the arts accessible to everyone.
