Help students seeking a career in law enforcement with college tuition. WIFLE awards scholarships to outstanding students who represent the future of federal law enforcement and public service. According to the Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice Statistics, Federal Law Enforcement Officers 2020 statistics (released September 2022), a bout 15% of federal law enforcement officers and 13% of supervisory law enforcement personnel were female. There remains much to be done to achieve gender balance within the federal agencies. It is in the spirit of achieving this goal that WIFLE offers Scholarships.
The Women in Federal Law Enforcement Foundation Scholarship Program is open to undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate students pursuing a career in federal law enforcement. Eligible students may major in Criminal Justice or a related discipline, such as social sciences, public administration, computer science, finance, linguistic arts, chemistry, physics, etc., leading to a four-year degree.
Students in graduate and postgraduate programs are also eligible; students pursuing Associate degrees are not eligible, unless they fully articulate in the application their intention to transfer to a four-year program, and high school students are ineligible. A grade point average of 3. 0 or above is required.
United States citizenship is required. Our Scholarship Program furthers our mission . Since its founding in 1999, Women in Federal Law Enforcement (WIFLE) has championed the advancement of women in law enforcement by collaborating with members, partners, sponsors, and the broader law enforcement community.
WIFLE is dedicated to promoting equality, offering mentorship, professional development, and empowerment, upholding integrity, and striving for excellence within federal law enforcement. Committed to shaping the future of law enforcement, WIFLE supports aspiring professionals by providing college tuition assistance to students pursuing careers in this noble profession.
WIFLE offers scholarships to: Financially assist individuals who aspire to qualify for a career in law enforcement. Foster professional development for those pursuing careers in the field of law enforcement careers. Scholarship awards are $2,500 each but may vary.
In 2025, the WIFLE Foundation awarded $25,000 in scholarships. Applicants must meet the following criteria: be a high school graduate; be a full-time student at an accredited four-year college/university OR enrolled in a full-time, accredited community college with plans to transfer to a four-year degree. completed at least one full academic year at an accredited college institution.
a minimum overall GPA of 3. 0. in Criminal Justice or a related discipline (e.g., social sciences, public administration, computer science, finance, chemistry, physics, etc.) leading to a four-year degree.
Graduate and postgraduate students are also eligible. Associate degree students are not eligible unless they transfer to a four-year program.
a minimum of a 500-word essay outlining your goals to enter the profession and the impact you hope to achieve in the profession and in your community, OR, if applicable, describe through a 500-word (minimum) essay an internship experience with a law enforcement agency (include the agency name, dates served, and key accomplishments). a written statement of support from at least one community leader or police official.
