Education Fund - Women's Forum of New York Educate a Woman, Impact Generations. Our membership knows that education is the key to women's empowerment. The Women's Forum Education Fund was established in 1987.
The Education Fund Award recognizes and supports extraordinary women over the age of 25 who have overcome adversity to pursue their first college degree. Our unrestricted $10,000 grants are awarded directly to the recipient for any costs associated with advancing her education. Thank you to the Sy Syms Foundation for generously underwriting the 2026 Elly Awards video.
Application and Eligibility The Education Fund Award is open to women aged 25 and over. Applicants must reside in New York City and attend a two-year or four-year institution in pursuit of their first Associate or Bachelor’s degree. 2026 application period begins.
Online application including letters of recommendation must be complete and submitted. Applicants will be notified by email if they have been selected for the award. The fundraising event for the Education Fund was established in 2011.
