Women of Vision - Jewish Foundation of Greater New Haven The Jewish Foundation’s Women of Vision Society has been helping women and girls in the Greater New Haven area and Israel for 30 years. Celebrating 30 years of impact! Women of Vision Society Makes a Lasting Gift and a Meaningful Impact on Women in our Community.

This endowment, created by 100 founding members in our community, has tackled issues from domestic violence and health to acculturation and spirituality. The endowment has more than doubled its membership and giving since its creation. Since its inception, Women of Vision has disbursed over $ 278 ,000 to help seed and sustain critical programming and services for women and girls.

Jewish Federation of Greater New Haven – Dignity Grows: Hope In a Bag This project provides critical menstrual and hygiene supplies to community members in need through a delivery network of community social service partners such as food banks, food pantries, schools, shelters, and resource centers. The products are purchased using funds from donations, individual and corporate sponsorships, and grants.

Personal tote bags are assembled by volunteers. Jaffa Institute, Israel: Wellfare to Wellbeing: Kirat Malachi Branch Wellfare to Wellbeing is designed to address the problem of chronic unemployment and intergenerational poverty among disadvantaged Ethiopian women, particularly single mothers, in Kirat Malachi.

This program seeks to provide them with tools and support to achieve financial independence through vocational skills training, empowerment workshops, food packages, scholarships and therapeutic and employment support. Learn more at: jaffainstitute.

org The Counseling Center for Women – The Second Shift: Empowering Women Caring for Aging Loved Ones The Counseling Center’s support group is for women aged 50 and over who are caring for aging parents during a demanding midlife stage, as they navigate careers, family responsibilities, and personal change.

Recognizing the emotional strain and isolation this role brings, the group offers a safe, inclusive space for connection and empowerment. Learn more at: ccw. org.

il B’nai B’rith Youth Organization – BBYO Connecticut Valley Region – Mindfulness, Movement & Meaning This is an in-person intergenerational mindfulness and empowerment program for B’nai B’rith Girls. (BBG) teens at CT Valley Region’s Spring Regional Convention.

Led by a panel of Jewish professionals, including health and wellness professionals, and BBYO alumni from various fields; the program will combine gentle movement and facilitated conversation to promote wellness, self-reflection, Jewish values, and cross-generational connection. org Jewish Israeli Center of New Haven – JIC Women’s Circle The JIC Women’s Circle is an ongoing program that brings Jewish women together through meaningful, hands-on experiences that foster connection to Jewish holidays, values, and community. The Towers at Tower Lane – The Butterfly Project: An Intergenerational Holocaust Education Program and Art Project This project honors children murdered in the Holocaust.

Through this program, communities across the country invite participants to paint ceramic butterflies in honor of and remembrance of each child lost during the Holocaust. The program includes film, discussion, and an art project, and results in a permanent installation. The Towers will install its Butterfly project in their outdoor butterfly garden.

A component of this project will be to feature the garden and installation at Greater New Haven’s Yom HaShoah Program in 2027. Learn more at: towerlane. org Yashar LaChayal – Female Soldiers in Need Project The project’s purpose is to assist underprivileged female IDF soldiers.

There are many female combat soldiers under extreme financial stress with little to no family support. This program provides these soldiers with household appliances, grocery vouchers, holiday food packages, and warm clothing. Camp Laurelwood: Jewish Values in Action This program is a women-led initiative that engages campers in Jewish learning, leadership, and hands-on service rooted in tikkun olam.

The program strengthens Jewish identity, empowers women leaders, and fosters meaningful community impact within the Greater New Haven community. Learn more at: camplaurelwood. org Haifa Rape Crisis Center (HRCC) – You Are Not Alone Building on their success in Afula, HRCC is expanding their support groups to the Jezreel Valley itself to address the rising demand for support since the war.

This project provides 10 survivors with 18 professional sessions offering a safe, familiar space to recover and find strength. Learn more at: hrcc. org.

il One In Nine for Every Woman – By Your Side In Northern Israel, women diagnosed with breast cancer face not only illness but isolation-especially in communities affected by the war. This program offers structured support groups and a peer mentorship program (“By Your Side”), connecting diagnosed women with trained survivors to provide guidance, hope, and resilience.

Beit Ruth for Young Women and Girls At-Risk, Israel: STEM Initiative Beit Ruth’s STEM Initiative provides young women with immersive technology education through a robotics program and the ImagineBox, an engaging, programmable classroom with interactive walls.

They gain academic skills, confidence, and career pathways in high-demand fields, expanding futures once unimaginable and supporting long-term economic independence and empowerment. Learn more at: beitruth. com Ruca’s Farm – Rooted in Resilience This grant will fund the Ruca’s Farm first all-women therapeutic agro-rehabilitation cohort for IDF women veteran coping with PTSD.

The program combines trauma-informed farming, group and individual therapy, somatic practices, and peer support, to strengthen resilience, healing, and long-term recovery in a women-centered environment.

ASLI Israel White Ribbon Organization – Male leadership in the Community Based on ASLI’s experience speaking with bystander men, through community and national-level fieldwork, this program aims to create local communities of men who want to engage in preventing violence towards women, make their surroundings safer for women and girls, and, most importantly, pass this engagement forward to more men.
