Women's Empowerment International Poverty Alleviation Programs is sponsored by Women's Empowerment International. Women's Empowerment International funds targeted poverty alleviation programs that benefit women experiencing poverty or extreme poverty.

Women’s Empowerment funds targeted poverty alleviation programs that benefit women experiencing poverty or extreme poverty, living in under-resourced, often rural, communities. With current partnerships in the U.S., Africa, Mexico, Haiti and Honduras, WE accepts letters of inquiry on an ongoing basis for poverty alleviation programs focused on women’s economic empowerment.

Provision of microloans to establish or sustain businesses; stipends to support the purchase of equipment and supplies for businesses. ENTREPRENUERSHIP TRAINING Training on budgeting, permitting, and marketing & operations to establish and grow small local businesses.

Education about saving budgeting, & banking practices, self-care, nutrition and violence prevention. Paid on-the-job training for entry into the workforce. OUR SELECTION OF FUNDING PARTNERS IS GUIDED BY THESE SUMMARY CRITERIA: Funding partner must be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization or equivalent if based internationally.

Program targets women living below the poverty line, especially in extreme poverty for international organizations. WE’s partnership with and financial contributions will make a significant impact. Organization’s programs provide a training component for increased financial, life, and/or health skills.

Organization’s programs have some component intended to recognize and reduce violence against women and children. Clients have opportunities to access helpful business services, health care, and/or other services beyond the financial aspect of the program for a holistic approach. Positive and sustained communications between the organization and WE are expected.

WE members will have opportunities to interact with organization clients through site visits, virtual presentations, or other meaningful encounters including service visits. Programs and management have a strong track record of impact. Programs are appropriate to the economic, political, and social context of the local area.
