Grant Opportunities - Wyoming State Library Return to Library News Page Carol McMurry Library Endowment Individual Grants for Continuing Education Individuals in publicly accessible libraries are eligible for competitive continuing education grants.

Priorities under this endowment are: Courses that support certification or completion of a degree or certificate in the library related subject area, Conferences, workshops, seminars or training in the employee’s or volunteer’s library related subject area, General courses that may not be directly library related but allow a library employee or volunteer to do his/her job more effectively. Maximum award is $1,500 in a calendar year.

The application should be submitted to the Wyoming State Library, not to the Wyoming Community Foundation. Six grant cycles per year. Next deadline: July 31.

Jan Merrill-Oldham Professional Development Grant The Preservation and Reformatting Section of the Association for Library Collections & Technical Services created this annual grant to honor the career of Jan Merrill-Oldham, a distinguished author and leader in the field. This award allows for librarians with 5 or fewer years of experience in the field to attend the American Library Association Annual Conference.

The award is a $1,250 cash grant to be used toward registration fees, airfare, and lodging. Deadline: December 1 Young Adults Write Now Endowment Program The Horror Writers Association will offer endowments to libraries to fund teen writing programs as part of its ongoing dedication to furthering young adult literacy.

The Young Adults Write Now fund will provide up to five endowments of $500 each per year for selected libraries to establish new, or support ongoing, writing programs. See guidelines and review their resources for librarians. Application period runs September through December.

Fight for a Better World Grant This grant of up to $5,000 is intended to support non-profits in addressing issues in social inequalities and injustices. Social inequalities/injustices can include but are not limited to the marginalization of select populations (LGBTQI, people of color, women/girls, the aging, refugees, indigenous people, etc.). Funds may be used for general organization support or for a project.
