Search * My WorkforceGPS Dashboard * Notice of Accessibility * Employment and Training Administration (ETA) * U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) Close ModalClose Large ModalClose Error ModalEvent EndedEvent Ended #### Grants Application and Management **The Office of Grants Management (OGM)**is to provide centralized administration and policy expertise through delegated Grant Officer services for award, administration, audit resolution and closeout of federal assistance awards made by the Employment and Training Administration, the Office of Disability Employment Policy, the Office of the Chief Evaluation Officer, the Veterans' Employment and Training Services, the Women's Bureau, and the Bureau of International Labor Affairs.
OGM works collaboratively with program offices to develop grant funding opportunity announcements, oversee application reviews and is the deciding official for federal assistance awards. The office develops and implements procedures to resolve audits and investigations of DOL grantees, and acts on grantee requests for waiver of liability.
OGM also represents the Department on the Grants Executive Steering Committee and other grant forums under the guidance of the Office of Management and Budget.
Lastly, OGM provides technical assistance on grant policies for WIOA (Workforce Innovation and Opportunities Act),special initiatives, projects, demonstrations, Uniform Guidance, etc. to ETA staff and the grant community for the purpose of improving and reinforcing sound grant management practices that include targeted technical assistance, webinars, toolkits, desk-aids, monitoring tools, and technical assistance guides.
OGM began the SMART technical assistance initiative in 2015 and through February 2021, 9,373 individuals (Federal staff, grant recipients, and other stakeholders) have participated in both in-person and virtual training.
SMART training provides active Federal Award recipients of Labor grant funds with helpful strategies in navigating the administration and financial management of their grants around four central themes weaved throughout the OMB Uniform Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles, and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards also known as the Uniform Guidance (2 CFR Part 200) and DOL's exceptions to the Uniform Guidance at (2 CFR Part 2900): SMART training is focused on: **S**trategies for sound grant management, including: For more information on SMART and other grant management guidance, please email:**Compliance.
