For rural areas, the threshold may be increased to 150% AMI. **If the AMI is $50,000, then:** 80% of AMI would be $40,000.
120% of AMI would be $60,000. * Awards of up to $3 million will be available to communities within a 30-minute drive of a new or expanding business where a qualified job announcement was made within the previous fiscal year. For projects located in rural areas, that drive time will be increased to 45 minutes.
* Up to $5 million can be made available for transformational projects of 500 new jobs or more. * Competitive Application period: Check back for application timelines. * Applications will be scored by a cross-agency team.

Applicants are encouraged to partner with for profit developers for these projects.
###### What type of funding is available? This program will provide grants or loan subsidies up to $3 million to partners to develop housing for middle income workers earning 80%-120% of area median income. To be eligible for investment, a locality must be within a 30-minute drive of a business adding new full-time jobs.
Together, the Workforce Housing Investment Program and the locality will provide 20% of the housing development project cost. Application for program funds requires that each locality or nonprofit provide matching funds as described in the chart below.
