Workforce Pathways for Youth Grants is sponsored by U.S. Department of Labor, Employment and Training Administration (ETA). This demonstration grant program supports national out-of-school time (OST) organizations that serve historically underserved and marginalized youth ages 14 to 21.
The grants emphasize age-appropriate workforce readiness programming to expand job training and workforce pathways, including soft skill development, career exploration, job readiness and certification, work-based learning opportunities, summer jobs, year-round job opportunities, and pre-apprenticeships and Registered Apprenticeships.
The program aims to support partnerships between OST organizations, workforce development programs, and school systems to introduce opportunity youth to career-related services.
Eligible youth include those from Black, Latino, Indigenous, Asian American and Pacific Islander communities, religious minorities, LGBTQ+ persons, persons with disabilities, and those affected by poverty or inequality, as well as youth with barriers to employment like foster youth, parenting youth, homeless youth, and justice-impacted youth.
