“ – Rosa The cost of a car repair can be a burden on working families. Without transportation, it is difficult to get kids to school, to keep a job, or to receive medical care. Working Wheels’ Vehicle Repair Program can help families keep their cars running.

We offer low cost auto repairs through our network of local mechanics. Participants in this program pay 10% of the repair cost, not to exceed $100. Who can participate in the Vehicle Repair Program?

Only clients of our community partners are eligible. These organizations identify and select their clients who are most in need of help with car repairs. The case managers at these organizations can refer individuals who have been actively engaged in one of their eligible programs.

Additionally, all applicants are required to 1) have a vehicle with a valid license plate, 2) be employed or enrolled in school, a full-time caregiver, on disability, OR age 60+ and 3) have the ability to pay up to $100 for the repair.

Applications cannot be submitted directly by individuals. To begin, you must be referred by your case manager at one of our community partners. They will: Confirm your eligibility.

Help you complete the application form. Verify that you can pay 10% of the cost of car repairs, up to $100. Once we have your completed application we will reach back out in three business days for an orientation call.

We will collect any additional information and set up an assessment appointment for your car. Our mechanics will examine your car, order parts, and begin work. Typically, depending on shop availability and ordering car parts, repairs are complete withing 7–10 business days.

You’ll pay for 10% of the repair, not to exceed $100.
