World Breastfeeding Week Grant is sponsored by Florida Lactation Consultant Association (FLCA). The World Breastfeeding Week Grant is provided by FLCA to support activities during World Breastfeeding Week.

1. Create a climate among FLCA members to encourage the promotion, support, and protection of breastfeeding throughout Florida. 2.

Support uncompensated efforts of FLCA members providing community breastfeeding education through monetary stipends. 1. Current FLCA members may each submit one application per calendar year.

2. Applicant will present a minimum one-hour breastfeeding class, talk, or presentation to an organization, club, church, school, or business. No monetary or gift-in-kind compensation can be received for the presentation.

3. Breastfeeding presentation must take place between January 1 and December 31 of the prior year. 4.

Applications must be received on or before January 15 for the presentation presented in the previous calendar year. 1. Complete this application and submit before the deadline of January 15.

2. FLCA Executive Board (or designate) will review applications in February of each year and award a maximum of 5 awards of $50. 00 each.

IBCLC DAY Celebration Grant To promote IBCLCs, FLCA and mentor future IBCLCs during IBCLC day celebration in March . 1. Promote FLCA and encourage membership.

2. Explain the IBCLC designation and paths to the exam. 3.

Mentor the next generation of lactation support toward IBCLC credential. 1. Current FLCA members may each submit one application per calendar year.

2. Applications must be received by the FLCA Grant Reviewer on or before February 15th. 1.

Complete this application and submit before the deadline of February 15th in order that grant to be awarded as soon as possible for March completion. 2. FLCA Executive Board (or designate) will review grant applications in February of each year and award a maximum of 10 awards of $50.

Promote World Breastfeeding Week. 2. Support the theme established for World Breastfeeding Week.

3. Mentor and collaborate with other professionals to continue to promote, protect, and support breastfeeding and the next generation of lactation supporters. 1.

Current FLCA members may each submit one application per calendar year. 2. Applications must be received by the FLCA WBW Grant Reviewer on or before June 15th.

1. Complete the application and submit before the deadline of June 15th in order that grant can awarded before July 15 for August completion. 2.

FLCA Executive Board (or designate) will review grant applications in June of each year and award a maximum of 10 awards of $50. 00 each.

IBCLC Exam Scholarships (4 at $300 each) (If more than 4 qualified applicants apply then names will be drawn by lottery) Deadline for application: June 15 or December 15 Be a member for at least 12 months prior to sitting for the exam (24 months is recertifying by exam) Taking the exam for the first time (or rectifying by exam) Submitting copy of the notification that you passed the exam.
