Scholarships - The Winston-Salem Foundation Youth Grantmakers in Action Supporting Bright Futures Since 1923, people from around our community have joined together to ensure that more local students have the resources to be all that they dream they can be. We hold more than 160 scholarship funds that supported 582 students from Forsyth, Davidson, Davie, Stokes, Surry, Wilkes, and Yadkin Counties with $1. 7 million this school year.
Scholarships are available in a wide range of areas—no matter your GPA, your high school, or the college you plan to attend, we likely have an opportunity for which you’re eligible to apply. KEY DATES: 2026-2027 SCHOLARSHIPS Most of our scholarships are accessed through our online One-Stop Scholarship Application .
This means you will be automatically considered for all the scholarships for which you are eligible—with just one application. You’ll need to complete the application in full and provide supplemental materials. We’ll take it from there!
Here’s how the process works: For U.S. citizens, first complete the FAFSA form at fafsa. gov . (For non-citizens, enter WSF portal after January 1 and follow instructions.)
Access our One-Stop Scholarship Application . You'll create an online account you can access at any time—so you can save your work and return to it later. Complete the General Application, as well as any other recommended opportunities you are prompted to complete.
Be sure to meet the firm deadlines listed above. Additional items you’ll need to have on hand to complete your application: – FAFSA Submission Summary after completing the FAFSA form – High school grade transcript through the 11 th grade for graduating high school seniors or college grade transcript for students who are already in college, whichever is the most recent.
Students are notified of awards for WSF Scholars in May and for Access Scholarships in August. Review One-Stop Scholarships In addition to our One-Stop Scholarships, we also have scholarships with outside selection processes.
These opportunities will not be identified by our One-Stop Scholarship Application, and you must contact each scholarship committee or guidance office individually to inquire about their application process and deadlines. Executive Summary The U.S. Department of State’s Consulate General in Almaty, Kazakhstan announces an open competition to implement a program for the design and execution of two projects: Access Alumni Outreach and Engagement and English Access Scholarship Program (Access) for the 2026-2028 cycle. This program will reach two audiences in South Kazakhstan: up to 300 Access Program alumni (ages 16–30, cohorts 2016–2026) across Shymkent, Kyzylorda, Taraz, Turkistan, and Almaty, and 32 new Access students (ages 13–15, 2026–2028 cohort) from the Shymkent or Taraz areas. For alumni, the 12-months program re-engages graduates through sustained activities that strengthen English, expand knowledge of U.S. history, culture, and Freedom 250 themes, and build professional networks across five cities. For new students, a 20-month intensive English curriculum targets measurable proficiency gains, increased awareness of U.S. culture and values, and direct pathways to U.S. government-sponsored exchange and scholarship opportunities. Both tracks advance U.S. foreign policy by cultivating English-proficient, U.S.-engaged youth leaders in a strategically important region of Central Asia, while sustaining long-term people-to-people ties through a growing network of Access alumni serving as community connectors and future exchange candidates.
