Scholarship Opportunities | School of Nursing | West Virginia University Scholarship Opportunities These are the current internal and external scholarships available to currently enrolled students at the WVU School of Nursing. Nursing students have many options to make their educational journey affordable, including financial aid, scholarships, grants and more.
Financial Aid and Grant Information To ensure eligibility, please make sure you have completed the most current FAFSA application, which can be found at fafsa. gov . WVU School of Nursing Ambassador Program Launched in Fall 2022, the WVU School of Nursing Ambassador Program offers three positions each academic year.
Selected students must attend and assist with SON/WVU events, whether in person or virtual, along with working four hours each week in the Office of Student Services or elsewhere within SON as needed. Students will be compensated with a scholarship for the academic year, awarded in two increments over each semester. Candidates must be in good academic standing.
WVU Medicine Aspiring Nurse Program The Aspiring Nurse Program at WVU Medicine provides financial and human-centered support to nursing students enrolled at select schools in West Virginia and neighboring regions. Nursing students accepted into the program will receive up to $25,000 which includes a sign-on bonus and expense funding over the course of four semesters, in exchange for a three-year work commitment following graduation.
West Virginia Nursing Scholarship Program This program provides scholarships to LPN, RN, LPN teaching certificate, and masters or doctoral nursing students. In exchange for agreeing to complete a service obligation in West Virginia, participants receive scholarship funds for their nursing programs. Your eligibility requirements for the program depend on what kind of nursing program you are enrolled within.
Applications for the next academic year are accepted from April 15 through June 1 each year. WV Nursing Scholarship Program Master of Science in Nursing Scholarship If you are a currently enrolled or recently accepted student in the Master of Science in Nursing program you may be eligible for $1,000 in scholarship money. Applications are open through December 1st and are offered annually.
The “Save a Life Scholarship” is awarded by the American Academy of CPR and First Aid is awarded twice a year to students pursuing degrees in either healthcare or education fields.
$1500 award for both the spring and fall semesters Available to any student over 18 years old in the requisite programs A given applicant may only win the scholarship once Applicants may reapply if they do not win the award Essay Prompt and Additional Information Commissioned Corps of the U.S. Public Health Service – America’s Health Responders This highly competitive program is available to full-time students about to begin their final year of academic study or professional training.
Those selected for the program will become Commissioned officers in the U.S. Public Health Service (USPHS) and receive full pay and benefits of an active duty officer for up to 12 months just for finishing their education and training. In return for financial assistance, SRCOSTEP participants agree to work for the USPHS sponsoring agency as a Commissioned Corps officer immediately after graduation.
NURSE Corps Scholarship Program Too many Americans—particularly in underserved areas—go without checkups, preventive screenings, vaccines, and other care, simply because there are not enough health care professionals to provide care and treatment in their communities. The NURSE Corps Scholarship Program enables you to fulfill your passion to care for underserved people in some of the neediest communities across the country.

The Robotics Grant Program is a grant from the Alabama State Department of Education (ALSDE) that funds school-based robotics programs for elementary, middle, and high school students. Awarded through a competitive application process, the program provides up to $3,500 to eligible local education agencies (LEAs) in Alabama. Applicants must be public school systems submitting on behalf of schools with K–12 students. The grant supports the purchase of robotics equipment and program development aligned with AMSTI guidelines. Applications are submitted online through the AMSTI Robotics Grant portal.
