Wyoming NASA Space Grant Consortium Graduate Research Fellowships is sponsored by Wyoming NASA Space Grant Consortium. The Wyoming NASA Space Grant Consortium sponsors education and research programs in Wyoming in support of NASA missions. This includes research fellowships and internships for students at the University of Wyoming and Wyoming community colleges.

Graduate Research Fellowships – Wyoming NASA Space Grant Consortium Graduate Research Fellowships – Wyoming NASA Space Grant Consortium Graduate Research Fellowships 2027-2028 Applications are due Wednesday, November 18th As part of the national Space Grant Program, we currently offer Graduate Research Fellowships to students at the University of Wyoming.

These fellowships are awarded to graduate students performing independent research who submit outstanding research proposals in line with National Space Grant Goals and Objectives or related to NASA’s mission goals. Students must be enrolled and in good standing at the University of Wyoming Students must be part of a Master’s or Ph. D.

program Faculty supervisors must have active status and/or plan to be on-site and readily available to the students Students must be U.S. citizens Graduate fellowships include a stipend of $22,000 , which covers one 9-month academic year (September 2027 – May 2028) Funding is to be strictly used for GA stipends Tuition, fees, and health insurance will be automatically covered for fellowship recipients It is expected that the award will commence at the beginning of the fall semester Students can only receive a graduate fellowship once during their academic career at UW Completed applications must be submitted through this ONLINE APPLICATION FORM by the application deadline.

Please note that we are piloting a new registration process with NASA that requires students to create a NASA STEM Gateway profile as part of their application packet.

There are four parts required for a complete application: Proposal Document ( Instructions ) – Must be uploaded with the online application form. Please write for a general audience! Letter of Recommendation – Must be submitted by the advisor directly to us, either by e-mail ( [email protected] ) or via this online form .

Registration with NASA STEM Gateway System ( Instructions ) – Complete a student profile on the NASA STEM Gateway webpage . Examples of past proposals that were funded: Example 1 | Example 2 | Example 3 ( Note: Previous proposals were allowed 5 pages for the body of the proposal. However, the current requirement is a maximum of 3 pages.

Cost share is also now required. All other requirements are the same.

) View the Reviewer Grade Sheet Research must be of a nationally competitive nature and have scientific merit Proposals must be well written and aimed at a general audience Potential for the recipient to develop a successful research program, resulting refereed publications, is desired Proposals that cannot be fully funded from other sources are given priority Proposals which include non-federal matching funds that can be documented are given priority Consideration will be given to the strength of the advisor’s recommendation Proposals must have goals that are aligned with NASA’s National Space Grant College and Fellowship Program objectives and the strategic missions of one or more of NASA’s Mission Directorates: Aeronautics Research Mission Directorate Exploration Systems Development Mission Directorate Mission Support Directorate Science Mission Directorate Space Operations Mission Directorate Space Technology Mission Directorate Student awardees are expected to keep the Wyoming NASA Space Grant Consortium informed of their progress by submitting monthly report surveys A final report survey is required and must be submitted in a timely manner following the completion of the fellowship Student awardees should participate in publication of any research results.

The Wyoming NASA Space Grant Consortium must be informed of any publications resulting from our funding. Student awardees should plan on giving a public presentation on their fellowship project. Participation in professional scientific meetings are strongly encouraged Student awardees must participate in a minimum of 5 hours of public science outreach activities during the fellowship year.
