Youth Opportunity Grants

Youth Opportunity Grants is a grant from ALIGN Association of Community Services that funds Canadian registered charities dedicated to preventing and ending youth homelessness in Canada. Grants of up to $75,000 support programs focused on housing, prevention, and employment for youth, including housing transformation, healthy pathways, and youth-led innovation and education programs.

Eligible applicants must be Canadian registered charities with a demonstrated commitment to preventing and addressing youth homelessness. The 2026 application deadline was March 6, 2026. Oshki Wupoowane | The Blanket Fund Reconciliation Action Grant Stream This grant, ranging from $1,500-$15,000, will support community-level reconciliation activities, events, and initiatives that contribute to cultural revitalization; elevate Indigenous culture, languages, and traditions; increase understanding between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples; or other grassroots initiatives that move reconciliation forward.

SSHRC Partnership Engage Grants These grants provide short-term and timely support for partnered research activities that will inform decision-making at a single partner organization from the public, private or not-for-profit sector. The small-scale, stakeholder-driven partnerships supported through Partnership Engage Grants are meant to respond to immediate needs and time constraints facing organizations in non-academic sectors.

Alberta Culture Days Grant Grants of up to $10,000 are available to help community non-profit organizations offset the cost of planning and hosting events, showcasing local talent and highlighting existing cultural programs in their communities. Varley Fund for Rural Life The Henry S. Varley Fund for Rural Life was established by local rancher William “Bill” Long and named in memory of his uncle, Henry Stewart Varley. The Varley family ranched southeast of Pincher Creek in the community of Fishburn for a century.

The purpose of this fund is to provide support for a high quality of life throughout rural Southwestern Alberta, through organizations, projects, and initiatives that enhance rural communities. Grant applications to this fund are accepted twice yearly. For community-led internet infrastructure, policy engagement and online safety projects.

Canadian Future-Ready Education Grant The Canadian Future-Ready Education Grant has been designed to support educators and students (7-13 years) in developing transferrable skills relevant to today’s fast paced world.

This Grant provides eligible schools & organizations with future-ready programs that include both physical and digital curriculum, videos, tools, materials and resources designed to be used in a classroom or as an afterschool/camp program The RCMP Family Violence Initiative Fund The RCMP Family Violence Initiative Fund helps communities respond to relationship and family violence and victim issues.

The fund helps to: Promote awareness of relationship and family violence, assist victims of family and relationship violence, Support RCMP crime prevention programs and Prevent crime in Indigenous communities. You can apply for funding if you are part of a community partner organization with a mandate to respond to and reduce incidents of family violence.

WestMET Group Canada Ltd. Community Fund With an initial gift of $42,880 to the Community Foundation of Southeastern Alberta. WestMET has committed to making an annual contribution for the next 25 years, helping strengthen our region both now and into the future.

Each year, a portion of their gift will be granted directly back into the community, while the remainder will be invested in the WestMET Community endowment fund for lasting impact.

This new grant stream will support local initiatives and community-based organizations serving the people of Special Area 2, the Town of Hanna, and the Village of Youngstow Calgary Foundation Neighbour Grants The Calgary Foundation’s Neighbor Grants offer up to $7,500 to help people build their sense of inclusive belonging in their own neighbourhoods and communities.

Registered charities must use a community development approach and have meaningful project leadership roles for grassroots people from the project community. Deadline March 30 for results announced mid-April The Electronics Recycling Roundup Grant This grant allows schools, non-profits, and community groups to increase recycling awareness and raise funds while making it easier for Albertans to recycle their old electronics.

Working with registered electronics processors, organizations would encourage their community to bring old electronics for collection. The organization then receives money by weight. St.

Albert Community Foundation St. Albert Community Foundation focuses on quality of life programs and services of proven need or benefit to the community. The Foundation has some flexibility to look beyond established areas of granting and is open to innovative ideas so long as such funding approaches are consistent with regulatory requirements.

Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) Community Investment Fund Support charitable projects or events that are making an impact in the communities of Calgary & Edmonton Alberta Settlement, integration and language projects grants Apply for funding for projects that strengthen the settlement, language and integration system, and contribute to Alberta’s economy.

InMotion Network: Go Girl Event Grants Go Girl events provide a unique opportunity for communities to reach out to their teen girls. Communities are encouraged to apply for a grant to host such an event. InMotion Network provides Go Girl grants up to a maximum of $2500.

Deadline April 1, 2026 for programs running between January and May CanFASD Researchers Travel Award The Canada FASD Research Network has a limited amount of funding to support travel of Network researchers and trainees in order to enhance their research experience in the area of knowledge dissemination and sharing.

Reimbursement of travel related expenses will be awarded for Network researchers and/or trainees presenting at national or international conferences. City of Red Deer Community Recreation Enhancement Grant The Community Recreation Enhancement Grant (CREG) is a City of Red Deer grant program that provides financial support to not-for-profit organizations delivering recreation initiatives in our community. CAEH Homelessness Reduction Innovation Fund The Homelessness Reduction Innovation Fund (HRIF) provides one-time grants to communities for projects that can measurably reduce homelessness. If you have a good idea you’ve been looking to test or a project you need to scale up.

City of Red Deer REconnect Community Initiative Funding Grant The REconnect Community Initiative will support projects that reach out and build social connections between people, and stronger, more resilient communities. The focus is especially to reach those who are isolated, and building new relationships between people.

Calgary Foundation Neighbour Grants The Calgary Foundation’s Neighbor Grants offer up to $7,500 to help people build their sense of inclusive belonging in their own neighbourhoods and communities. Registered charities must use a community development approach and have meaningful project leadership roles for grassroots people from the project community.

Deadline April 22 for results announced mid-May Edmonton Heritage Counsel Project Accelerator Grant Project Accelerator grants are designed to support individuals and organizations undertaking small scale heritage projects that tell Edmonton stories in unique or innovative ways. The Project Accelerator grant will support up to $10,000 of eligible expenses.

Alberta Blue Cross Community Wellbeing Grant The Community Wellbeing grant program provides 75 awards of $1,000 each to organizations that promote health and wellbeing in their communities. This program supports the physical, mental and social wellbeing of all Albertans and celebrates Alberta Blue Cross’s ® legacy of giving back to the communities we serve.

The Spirit Bear Award goes to a group of young people who demonstratetheir commitment to reconciliation and the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action. This year, two awards of $500 will be given togroups of young people to use as they would like toward their activities or simply to celebrate ! Deadline April 30, 2026, at 11:45 PM ET.

Grassroot youth groups/collectives (comprised of Indigenous youth ages 15-29) are eligible to apply for funding to support community programs and projects while receiving innovative mentorship, training and capacity-building opportunities. Funding will be provided to projects/groups that seek to create impactful community change and increase the wellness, resiliency and engagement of Indigenous youth.

This program aims to support Indigenous youth to take ownership over the wellness of their peers and community. Town of Banff Community Grants Town of Banff Community Grants were established to provide an annual distribution of funds to enhance the quality of life for residents and encourage positive environmental change. The three, grant funding streams are: Municipal Community Wellbeing Grants Who can apply?

Registered non-profits, charities, societies or community groups serving Banff What can they apply for? Funds to support projects, programs, events, operating costs, equipment or start-up funds that benefit Banff residents and enhance their quality of life in accordance with the Town of Banff’s vision, goals, and strategic priorities How much is available?

Parks Foundation Calgary Building Communities Grant The Building Communities Grant can be used for the development of new or improved community-led park or playground projects. Open to registered non-profit organization, educational institution, society or group within the City of Calgary municipal boundaries Connection Grants are expected to respond to the objectives of the Connection program.

These grants support events and outreach activities geared toward short-term, targeted knowledge mobilization initiatives. These events and activities represent opportunities to exchange knowledge and to engage with participants on research issues of value to them. Events and outreach activities funded by a Connection Grant can often serve as a first step toward more comprehensive and longer-term projects.

Deadline May 1, 2026 (8:00 p. m. eastern) Burns Memorial Fund offers project grants to Calgary organizations working with low-income children and youth (under the age of 21) in the areas of health, education and recreation.

Applicants must be CRA registered charities working in Calgary.

Funded projects must align with at least one of the following goals: Each child is healthy, safe and has access to optimal health care Each child is ready for school, experiences success in school and graduates Each child has the opportunity to participate in recreational activities that help them to discover their talents and develop their full potential The Emerald Youth Grant program empowers youth aged 5-25 across Alberta to take on environmental projects that inspire change and foster environmental stewardship.

The FCC AgriSpirit Fund supports projects by charities, non-profit groups, First Nations bands and Metis settlements in communities of less than 150,000 people The prestigious Wild Rose Award recognizes individuals or community service organizations for their dedication to recreation and parks, be it professional, lay or philosophic.

It may be awarded to recognize professional or significant personal involvement or long service in support of recreation or parks endeavors on a provincial level. This bursary is designed to help in continuing education in a college, university, vocational institution or other special educational pursuits.

Applicant must be a foster, former foster, adopted, or a biological child of a licensed foster or a kinship caregiver or a child currently placed with or formerly placed with a kinship caregiver.

In Phase Two (Blossom) grantees will receive $10,000 to grow their first initiative or run a different activity.

m. eastern) Funding is available to educational institutions, Indigenous communities, community groups or gardens, food banks, community housing projects, municipalities, or other groups interested in planting edible trees on publicly accessible sites.

Eligible projects receive funding up to $10,000 to cover the cost of purchasing and planting trees and shrubs, site preparation, tree maintenance, planting materials and developing education materials Grant applications are accepted from October to early December the year before project implementation. TREE CANADA Treemendous Communities Fund Tree Canada supports greening projects wherever people live, work or play.

Treemendous Communities funding is available to Canadian municipalities, Indigenous communities, business improvement associations, non-profit and community groups. Up to $10,000 in funding is available per project. Eligible projects receive funding up to $10,000 to cover the cost of purchasing and planting trees and shrubs, site preparation, tree maintenance, planting materials and developing education materials.
