Youth Reinvestment Grant Program (YRG) is sponsored by California Board of State and Community Corrections (BSCC) / California Office of Youth and Community Restoration (OYCR). The YRG Program aims to divert youth at risk of juvenile justice involvement from initial contact with the system using evidence-based, culturally relevant, trauma-informed, and developmentally appropriate approaches.
Funding may also be used to avert further involvement in the juvenile justice system for those who have already had contact. Diversion programs must incorporate educational services, mentoring services, mental health services, or behavioral health services.
