Youths Sports Grant Program (Flathead Valley, MT) is a grant from the Whitefish Community Foundation that funds 501(c)(3) nonprofits running youth sports programs in Flathead County, Montana. The program supports organizations operating youth sports leagues and activities as well as nonprofits that support school-sanctioned but unfunded school sports programs. The Youth Sports Grant Program is open to 501(c)(3) nonprofits running Flathead Valley youth sports programs, as well as 501(c)(3) nonprofits supporting school-sanctioned but not funded school sports programs. Youth sports organizations that did not participate in the 2025 Great Fish Community Challenge should apply to the Youth Sports Grant Program.

Great Fish Community Challenge A multi-week charitable giving campaign that takes place annually, the Great Fish Community Challenge has raised more than $43M for Flathead Valley nonprofits since 2015. The 2026 Great Fish Community Challenge application opens April 1 and closes May 21 at 5 p. m.

Designed to assist small 501c3 nonprofits nonprofits with immediate needs. Whitefish Community Foundation recognizes that nonprofit boards and staff with access to capacity building software and training resources are better equipped to deliver excellent programs.

As part of our Nonprofit Development Program, we are offering reimbursement capacity-building grants to help Flathead Valley-based nonprofits achieve one of the following: Select and purchase a donor database and map out how to utilize it for stewarding donors and growing your fund development To be eligible to apply for a capacity building grant, organizations must be a 501c3 nonprofit public charity based in Flathead County.

Whitefish Community Foundation provides Emergency Grants to fund projects or repairs that must be IMMEDIATELY ADDRESSED, or they will prevent the applying nonprofit from operating. Open to nonprofit projects and programs serving youth who are homeless or at-risk of becoming homeless in the areas of education, health, and safety.

Major Community Project Grants Dedicated to helping nonprofit organizations complete capital projects that will have a significant and positive effect on communities in the Flathead Valley.

KALISPELL SCHOOL DISTRICT’S HEART PROGRAM OCTOBER 2025: Whitefish Community Foundation’s grant will support the HEART Program’s Stable Families Initiative, providing immediate, flexible support to McKinney-Vento-qualified students and their families through hotel stays and rental assistance.
