Rebuilds (Developers) Middle Market Loan Program The Rural Rental Rehab Program LA Homeownership Think Tank Public Notices & Comments LHC Audited Financial Statements Constituent Services Request LHC and Partners Open the Doors to Providence Place Written by Office of Public Affairs East Baton Rouge, LA — The Louisiana Housing Corporation (LHC) joined the Young Woman's Christian Association (YWCA) of Greater Baton Rouge and partners to celebrate the completion of Providence Place, a $3.

8M development designed to provide affordable housing for survivors of domestic violence. Providence Place includes 12 units composed of three-story four-unit structures. Nine units will be reserved for tenants with family incomes at or below 80% of the Area Median Income (AMI) and three for tenants with family incomes at or below 50% of AMI.

LHC awarded $1. 5M through the 2016 Floods Neighborhood Landlord Rental Program (NLRP) utilizing Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery Program (CDBG-DR) dollars through the Office of Community Development (OCD). The City of Baton Rouge also secured HOME funds of $1,160,561.

"When we assemble a new program or an allocation of funding, we are purposefully analyzing areas that need aid, the Baton Rouge region is a prime example of this after the 2016 Floods," said LHC Executive Director Marjorianna Willman. "This development not only provides affordable housing, but it will protect the residents who are in vulnerable situations that need our support.

We are honored to work alongside partners who share similar values." “The YWCA’s newly constructed community of 12 two-bedroom units in North Baton Rouge will provide safe housing for low-income families who have survived the specter of domestic violence,” Louisiana Office of Community Development-Disaster Recovery Executive Director Gina Campo said.

"LOCD-DR is proud to team up with LHC and all our partners who make the Neighborhood Landlord Rental Program possible, so we can provide much-needed affordable and resilient housing as we continue to recover from The Great Floods of 2016. ” Providence Place will provide residents with a safe living space, enabling survivors to protect themselves and their families.

With safe housing being a part of LHC's mission, this development will help many survivors in taking the next step. "This amazing new housing community would not have been possible without vital funding from LHC. It is through their mission that the YWCA Greater Baton Rouge can open its doors to women and children to rebuild their lives and move forward into recovery and independence," said YWCA Chief Executive Officer Dianna Payton.

"Providence Place is earmarked to provide hope and healing to survivors of domestic violence." LHC is appreciative of the support provided by the project developer Beechwood Residential and NRK Construction, LLC as the general contractor.
