Zero-Emissions Technology Fund Competition is sponsored by U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). This competition will award $7 billion in competitive grants to states, tribes, municipalities, and eligible nonprofit entities for residential rooftop solar, community solar, and associated storage, with a focus on minority and low-income groups.
The goal is to spur the deployment of residential distributed solar energy to lower energy bills for millions of Americans and catalyze transformation in markets serving low-income and disadvantaged communities. EPA will not fund individual projects under this competition, but rather award grants to entities that will then provide subsidies and other financial assistance for projects.
