Administration and maintenance of a public museum that exhibits posters from its own collection and other third parties and hosts virtual and on-site programming. The museum has welcomed 20,000 people since reopening, including school groups from 20 schools, and amassed over 700 members.

The Poster House Education Department is responsible for a substantial amount of outreach for the museum, and creates programming for K-12, college, and graduate students; kids and families; and those 55 and better. Poster House offers both virtual and on-site workshops taught by Lead Educators that showcase what we can learn about history, design, sociology, advertising, and much more through posters. The core of this is our work with students from surrounding colleges and universities and NYC public schools, where our carefully designed tours and workshops support their development of visual literacy and creative critical thinking skills. The Poster House Education Department has developed multi-staged programs with NYC high schools that include workshops with Educations both before and after on-site visits to the museum, which creates a stronger understanding and relationship to the material.
