American Cancer Society Institutional Research Grant | VCU Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center ACS Institutional Research Grants | VCU Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center Helping you live your best life --> VCU Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center ACS Institutional Research Grants American Cancer Society Institutional Research Grant The American Cancer Society Institutional Research Grants (ACS IRG) is awarded to early-stage investigators to pursue basic, pre-clinical, clinical and cancer-control research studies.
These funds are intended for new investigators who are within six years of their first academic appointment, and to provide new investigators with necessary resources to more rapidly develop their research, generate pilot data and publish their results, all of which enhances their ability to compete for national-level funding.
Awards of up to $50,000/year are provided for up to three early-stage investigators each year Awardees must have an established mentor/mentoring team in place A Massey investigator may only hold one active pilot research award at a time Applicants are required to consult with a biostatistician as part of the proposal to assist with design and statistical methods if applicable.

NCI Continuing Umbrella of Research Experiences (CURE) Academic Career Excellence (ACE) Award (K32) is a grant from the National Cancer Institute (NCI) that funds early postdoctoral fellows from diverse backgrounds, including underrepresented groups, to pursue research training in cancer-related fields. The K32 award supports fellows within 12 months prior to transitioning into, or within the first two years of, a postdoctoral position. The program, operated through NCI's Center to Reduce Cancer Health Disparities (CRCHD), aims to enhance the pool of qualified diverse cancer researchers. Beginning with the June 12, 2025 due date, the CURE ACE Award is available in both Independent Clinical Trial Required and Independent Clinical Trial Not Allowed versions. Eligible applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents at time of award.
