Innovative Research for Enhanced Diabetes Prevention and Care in Primary Care Settings This RFA aims to attract outstanding researchers interested in improving diabetes care within the primary health care setting. The ADA seeks to support studies that will develop, implement, and evaluate new strategies, tools, and models of care that can be readily adopted by primary care providers (PCPs).
Proposed projects should focus on practical solutions that address the barriers faced by PCPs and the primary diabetes care team, leverage the strengths of the primary health care system, and build on existing ADA initiatives to enhance diabetes management and patient engagement.
Innovative Research to Improve the Lives of Older Adults Living with Diabetes This RFA aims to attract outstanding researchers interested in addressing the complex relationship between aging and diabetes. The ADA seeks to support studies that will enhance our understanding of the clinical, social, and biological factors influencing diabetes in older adults.
Proposed projects should focus on improving the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment strategies for older individuals living with diabetes—ultimately reducing the burden of this disease on both patients and the health care system. Each RFA offers multiple grant mechanisms, including Junior Faculty Development awards, Innovative Basic Science awards, and Innovative Clinical or Translational Science awards.
