Capital City Marathon Endowment Fund | The Community Foundation of South Puget Sound Grants Scholarships Connect Capital City Marathon Endowment Fund Thank you to everyone who applied in 2026! Check out the 2026 grants announcement here. The Capital City Marathon Association (CCMA) is a nonprofit organization that has been providing a quality, local, all-volunteer running event since 1980.
CCMA is committed to giving back to the community. To that end, they established the Capital City Marathon Endowment Fund, a component fund of the Community Foundation of South Puget Sound, in 2014. Every year the fund grows each year with proceeds from the marathon.
Funding Priorities & Goals Funding is available for projects in Lewis, Mason, and Thurston counties that will increase the understanding and practice of healthy living.
To accomplish this goal, the grant supports projects that focus on one or more of the following: Personal health and fitness through the promotion of physical activity and exercise, such as running, group or individual sports, swimming, hiking, dancing, etc. Nutrition, which can include nutrition education or other positive health habits and attitudes Personal growth through accomplishment, such as preparing for a competition Accessibility through the expansion of participation opportunities in a sport or healthy living activities Grantees will be invited to table at Capital City Marathon's exposition event, the Run Fair.
CCMA offers this optional opportunity to further support, raise awareness, and promote grantees and their community work. Nonprofit 501(c)(3) charitable organizations, booster clubs, public schools and/or school districts, local municipal governments, and tribal organizations are eligible to be considered for this grant.
If your organization does not fall under an eligible category, you must secure a fiscal sponsorship prior to submitting your application.
