Current as of:January 10, 2025 ## Child Care and Development Fund Plans The Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF) Plan serves as the application for the Child Care and Development Block Grant (CCDBG) funds by providing a description of, and assurance about, the grantee’s child care program and all services available to eligible families. The Office of Child Care reviews the Plans for approval.
If they are approved, funds are awarded for the next federal fiscal year. ## Change of Plan Cycle and Submission Date for CCDF Plans Prior to 2014, CCDF Plans reflected a grantee’s plans for a two-year period. When it was reauthorized in 2014, the CCDBG Act changed the Plan cycle for the Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF) Program from a biennial to a triennial Plan period.
Beginning with the FY 2016-2018 CCDF Plan for States and Territories, Plans cover a 3-year period, from October 1, 2018 through September 30, 2021 for the FY 2019-2021 Plan for States and Territories. States and Territories will soon submit their next 3-year Plan covering October 1, 2021 through September 30, 2024.
