Community Grants (Foundation for the Tri-State Community) is sponsored by Foundation for the Tri-State Community. The Foundation for the Tri-State Community seeks to respond to current community needs through its Community Grant process.

Community Grant - Foundation for the Tri-State Community Foundation for the Tri-State Community Grants The Foundation for the Tri-State Community engages donors to build community wealth for a stronger region. The Foundation’s Board of Trustees seeks to respond to current community needs through this Community Grant process.

Since the Foundation’s mission is broad, it enjoys supporting a variety of projects the improve the quality of life in the Tri-State. Special priority shall be placed on projects that: Enhance a non-profit’s capacity. Examples include improving internal management, reducing operating costs, etc. Test or demonstrate new approaches and techniques to solve important community problems.

Grant Information & Guidelines Grants shall be made in amounts up to $10,000. Organizations may submit only one application per funding cycle for a Foundation Community Grant. If awarded, grantees will be ineligible to apply again for two funding cycles (For example, if a grant is awarded during the Spring 2025 cycle, the grantee will not be able to apply again until Fall 2026).

Awards will be made twice a year, in the spring and fall. The next grant cycle will open September 21, 2026 and close October 30, 2026 at 5 PM . Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) charities and other organizations that meet our charitable grant guidelines.

Project proposals must serve residents of the tri-state area, which includes Boyd and Greenup Counties in Kentucky , Cabell and Wayne Counties in West Virginia , and Lawrence County, Ohio . Applicants are strongly encouraged to contact us before or during the application process to discuss project ideas, share information, and ask questions. Foundation staff is eager to help you craft a successful proposal.

The Foundation’s Board of Trustees may consider or exclude expenses on a case-by-case basis. However, the following will generally not be considered for funding: Capital building projects Sectarian activities of religious organizations Thank you for your interest.
