Central Carolina Community Foundation awards grants through several competitive application processes each year. Our service area includes the following 11 counties in the Midlands: Calhoun, Clarendon, Fairfield, Kershaw, Lee, Lexington, Newberry, Orangeburg, Richland, Saluda, and Sumter. Please be sure to read each grant’s eligibility; some opportunities are statewide.
Over $240 Million in Grants and Scholarships awarded in the Midlands and beyond since 1984 Please note: mailed, emailed, faxed, or hand-delivered applications will not be accepted. Declinations will be emailed . Prior to applying, organizations are encouraged to thoroughly review all information about the CCCF grant they are applying for.
All grant applications must be submitted via the grant portal. Grants for which we are accepting applications are listed in the portal during their open period. If there are no grants listed on the “Apply” page, then we are not accepting applications at that time.
Refer to our calendar for a list of application dates. Grants focused on making our community a stronger place to live, work, and play. Connected Communities Grants – Funds innovative projects to improve the community’s quality of life and livability and increase residents’ satisfaction and community attachment.
Grants for specific counties in the Midlands Greater Chapin Community Foundation – For nonprofits that serve the Greater Chapin area. Knight Foundation Advised Fund – For projects that attract and keep talented people, expand economic opportunity, and create a culture of engagement in the greater Columbia area. Orangeburg and Calhoun Counties Community Foundation – For nonprofits that serve Orangeburg and/or Calhoun counties.
Sumter Community Foundation – Capacity building mini-grants for nonprofits that serve Sumter County. Grants for specific program areas Aflac – For nonprofits serving South Carolina with programs in the areas of health, well-being and education. Hootie & the Blowfish Foundation – Supports public schools and nonprofit organizations residing in South Carolina with multi-year Area of Need grants.
Lynches River Conservation – For land conservation and acquisition projects that improve the water quality and ecological integrity of the Lynches River watershed. Mary Seibert Charitable Trust – For organizations that support the humane treatment of animals and birds within the state of South Carolina.
Midlands Community Response Fund – Provides relief, recovery, and rebuilding in response to a community-wide crisis or disaster in our 11-county service area. One SC Fund: Emergency Food Response – Funds emergency food response throughout South Carolina. One SC Fund: Hurricane Helene – Funds disaster relief and recovery assistance programs throughout South Carolina.
Grants to build the organizational capacity of nonprofits. Capacity Building Grants – Funds to assist with organizational and financial stability, improved governance, and growth. Fundraising School – A six-week course to build fundraising capacity for nonprofits.
