In the last 25 years alone , IECF has awarded more than $250 million to nonprofit organizations that support children and families and do vital work in health and human services, arts and culture, education – and for civic and environmental benefit. In 2023, the Foundation gave over $33 million in grants, of which nearly $4 million were for scholarships and education.

Our grantmaking achieves meaningful, measurable results and leverages significant investments from other foundations, donors, and government sources. At IECF, we accept competitive grant proposals from nonprofit organizations that serve the residents of Riverside and San Bernardino County during specific grant cycles.

Our Grants Committee reviews all information and makes recommendations to the full Board of Directors, who then make the final decisions on all competitive grants. Each of the competitive grants available to nonprofit agencies are listed along with a link to an online or downloadable application.

Community Impact Fund Application | Closed Community Impact Fund: Meeting the Moment IECF’s Community Impact Fund (CIF) is its only unrestricted grantmaking. Two years ago, the Community Impact Fund, IECF’s competitive grant opportunity, funded efforts by IE nonprofits to embark on their own journey of diversity, equity, and inclusion, and to consider how those ideas could enhance their impact.

In 2025, given the impact of executive orders, federal funding cuts, and threatened future financial support to our nonprofit sector, IECF is focusing the CIF grant opportunity to assist nonprofits in this moment. In June 2025, we hosted focus groups in three (3) locations – Riverside, San Bernardino and Coachella Valley.

Twenty-two organizations participated from the sectors of Arts & Culture, Veteran Services, Youth Mentoring, Capacity Builder, College Prep, Immigrant Services, After School Program, Foster Youth, Health, Housing, Child Advocates, Senior Services, and Food Insecurity.

Participants provided context on the state of IE nonprofits and consequently identified, prioritized, and delineated the most impactful, relevant and simplest ways to distribute $500,000 in grant funding.

Six (6) Months Core Operating Support Grants Grants awarded are for general operating costs and may support efforts that enable an organization to effectively carry out its mission by strengthening organizational capacity and infrastructure to meet this moment of uncertainty. The maximum request and award is $20,000. Requests over $20,000 will be disqualified.

This grant is designed to support transformative projects that advance systems change and power-building work in the IE’s Black community. Applicants may apply for funding in one of four tiers, including Learning grants, Emerging grants, and Scale-up grants. Nonprofits that operate within Assemblymember Corey Jackson’s District 60 are also eligible for AD60 grants.

Opening Date: August 16, 2024 Closing Date: September 13, 2024 Amount Range : Grants of up to $100,000 are available through the Black Equity Fund for Black-led and Black-serving organizations in Riverside and San Bernardino Counties.

Through a collective impact approach to fundraising and grantmaking, BCVF has an opportunity to reinvigorate local philanthropy by investing collaboratively in effective, mission-driven organizations that uplift well-being and build prosperity for residents in the Coachella Valley. For 2024, BCVF will focus on food insecurity in Coachella Valley. We believe that conditions are right for real, sustainable progress.

org Download Idyllwild Community Fund Grant Evaluation Report CIELO Fund 2026 Grant Application | Closed Launched in 2022 at the Inland Empire Community Foundation, the Cultivating Inland Empire Latino Opportunity Fund (CIELO Fund) is dedicated to uplifting and investing in the Inland Empire’s Latino community.

The CIELO Fund supports organizations, initiatives, and innovations that are led by–and serve–Latinos in Riverside and San Bernardino counties. The CIELO Fund also invests in the next generation of leaders through the CIELO Fund Scholarship Program, commissions original research, and works on efforts that promote positive narratives for Latinos in the IE.

org Youth Grantmakers 2026 Grant Application | Closed Where Youth Voice Meets Real Impact The Youth Grantmakers (YG) Program, powered by IECF, has been amplifying youth voices since 2008. More than an after-school program, it’s a leadership journey for high school students (ages 15–18) who want to create lasting change in their communities.

Through a 6-month, hands-on experience, Youth Grantmakers receive training in grantmaking, build leadership skills, roll up their sleeves for community service, and dig into what matters most to young people across the region. From researching the issues, visiting nonprofits, analyzing grant proposals, and making funding decisions, they’re in the driver’s seat. What Does the Fund Support?

In past years, YG grants have fueled everything from mental health programs to arts projects to educational initiatives.

For 2026, our forward-thinking student teams across Riverside, San Bernardino, and the Coachella Valley have agreed to center all funding around Academic Stress , Mental Health , Financial Education , Youth Community , Minority Support (LGBTQ, Immigration) and AI (Artificial Intelligence): How to use it as a benefit and not a replacement.
