In 2025, 1 in 11 U.S. children will experience the death of a parent or sibling—and millions of adults navigate the death of loved ones with limited understanding or workplace support. 1 That’s why we’re leading change through a holistic, systems-level approach from direct services to research and initiatives.

### Grief-Sensitive Schools Initiative (GSSI) Through the Coalition to Support Grieving Students, the New York Life Foundation launched the Grief-Sensitive Schools Initiative to expand awareness and access to grief resources nationwide. This effort equips educators, after-school staff, and youth-serving organizations with the tools and knowledge to support any grieving student—wherever and whenever they need it most.
